Commenting on the release of an OECD report calling on European Countries to prioritise investment in Higher Education as a way out of recession, Welsh Lib Dem Shadow Economy Minister, Jenny Randerson AM said:
"The OECD have it spot on and this report raises some serious questions here in Wales. We have recently seen the Labour-Plaid Government introducing top-up fees and universities facing cuts in funding at a time when the economy is in serious trouble.
"This report once again shows that the policies of this government are way off course for building a better Wales. Undermining further and higher education during a recession is akin to drilling holes in the roof during a thunderstorm.
