Longer rail franchises would bring more stability to the Welsh railways

Commenting on the Competition Commission's recommendation that rail franchises should be longer, Welsh Lib Dem Shadow Transport Minister, Jenny Randerson AM said:

"The current system is all about short term gain for operating companies. We need to build stability into the rail system and this recommendation is a clear endorsement of the Welsh Liberal Democrat view that only this stability will provide the bigger investment that is so urgently needed."
