Jenny Randerson - Standing up for Cardiff Central

Ambulance Service "Logistics Expert" - Jenny Randerson comment

11.44.43am BST (GMT +0100) Wed 23rd Jul 2008

Commenting on the instruction by the Health Minister for the Ambulance Service to engage a "logistics expert", Welsh Liberal Democrat Health Spokesperson, Jenny Randerson AM said:

"Logistics Experts are all well and good, but the Minister is ignoring the elephant in the corner. Without money to pay off its debts, the ambulance service will not be able to make the improvements that we all want to see. The service is being required to make savings amounting to almost 10% of their total budget due to previous overspends, which is seriously impacting on their ability to improve. All steps are welcome, but funding is the big one, and until she addresses this, I do not have confidence in the Minister's ability to help the service to improve."
