Jenny Randerson believes that a walk-in centre would ease many pressures on Cardiff's health services like ambulances qeueing to unload patients

Cardiff Central AM Jenny Randerson today used her short-debate in the National Assembly to further push the Welsh Assembly Government to choose Cardiff as a site for one of its proposed pilot schemes for NHS Walk-in centres. Since the Minister announced her broad plans for pilot schemes, Jenny Randerson has repeatedly called for Cardiff to be chosen as one of the first sites because of the extra pressures it bears as the capital city.

Jenny Randerson said: "When I won the ballot for a short debate, I was very keen to hold the debate on the topic of walk-in centres and on Cardiff as a venue in particular.

"Cardiff has so many extra pressures upon it, that it would be madness to overlook it when the pilot sites are being selected.

Notes:

1. Jenny Randerson's short-debate was entitled "Piloting Walk-in Centres: The Case for Cardiff."

2. A short debate allows Assembly Members to debate issues of their choice for thirty minutes and are draw by a lottery of all AMs.
