Hooray! Says Randerson on the Children's Hospital

Jenny Willott MP and Jenny Randerson AM are delighted that phase 2 of the Children's Hospital for Wales will be funded by government

It has been announced today that the total costs of Phase 2 of the Welsh Children's Hospital will now be met through the public capital programme and the Health Minister will underwrite the revenue gap of £1.2million.

Cardiff AM Jenny Randerson said "There is one word for this announcement: 'Hooray'.

"The statement on the Children's Hospital is very good news but I suggested 9 months ago that that the previous Minister should take action on the revenue gap. Valuable time has been lost and it still does not answer the issue of how to get 'buy in' by all the LHBs. This hospital needs to be much more than a Cardiff Hospital

"The Noah's Ark Appeal should be commended for their excellent work in keeping the Children's Hospital at the forefront of Minister's mind and I will be keeping a close eye on the future progress of the hospital. The appeal has also demonstrated massive public support for this project by raising tens of millions of pounds in donations so I am glad that the government is not procrastinating any more."
