Jenny Randerson - Standing up for Cardiff Central

Randerson Defends 'city with desperately few charms'

3.37.00pm UTC (GMT +0000) Mon 8th Oct 2007

Commenting on Paul Gregor's character assassination of Cardiff, Jenny Randerson AM for Cardiff Central said "Perhaps Mr. Gregor was in another city when he described Cardiff as having cheap shops and being squalid with desperately few charms, laden with the worst architecture of the 1960s. He obviously missed the Civic Centre, the castle, the arcades, the National Assembly and the Millennium Centre and obviously didn't speak to any Cardiffians, who are infinitely more charming than him.

"He is obviously upset at New Zealand choking again and lashed out.

"Cardiff is one of the most exciting cities in Europe to live in. It also compares favourably to London as a rugby venue. Fans love the proximity of the Stadium to some wonderful pubs."
