More trains secured for quarter final

Welsh Liberal Democrat AM, Jenny Randerson today received correspondence confirming that additional trains will be put on to accommodate fans heading back to London after the Rugby World Cup Quarter Final. Three extra services will run to London after the match on 6th October. Previously the last train would have left before the end of the game.

Cardiff Central AM Jenny said "why anyone would want to leave Cardiff is a mystery to me but I am glad that Network Rail and First Great Western have responded to my correspondence in a really positive manner and have gone that extra yard to make sure that Rugby fans can fully focus on enjoying the game.

"Future tournament organisers need to work more closely with public transport stakeholders to ensure that these sorts of problems are resolved much earlier.

"I look forward to fans from around the world seeing what a wonderful host city Cardiff is for major sporting events and weekend breaks"
