Jenny Randerson - Standing up for Cardiff Central

Labour on Final Warning over Ambulances

4.45.51pm UTC (GMT +0000) Tue 13th Feb 2007

Following an emergency question Jenny Randerson AM for Cardiff Central questioned the Health Minister about the break down of the Ambulance Service over the weekend in Cardiff resulting in a 'major incident emergency.'

"The Ambulance service was on emergency alert over weekend. If a well predicted fall of snow has this effect what on earth would happen if we had a real emergency situation. Clearly the service is at breaking point on a day to day basis and even the slightest strain leads to complete breakdown.

"The Labour Assembly Government is now on final warning over the state of the service which has collapsed on their watch. The Auditor General's report showed that the problem lies with historical bad management and the Labour Assembly Government appointed the managers."
