Tomorrow sees the first meeting of an Assembly committee to scrutinise Jenny Randerson's Proposed Measure to introduce healthier school meals. The Cardiff Central AM's Measure - the first from an AM outside the government - hopes to raise the standards of nutrition in school food across Wales.

The Welsh Lib Dems today warned the Assembly Government to tread very carefully when reorganising NHS structures in Wales. Speaking in an opposition debate, the party called on the Assembly Government to tread carefully in order not to remove patients and clinicians voices on the ground.

Welsh Liberal Democrat Health Spokesperson, Jenny Randerson AM today revealed shocking figures showing that 76 children below the age of eight have been admitted to hospital because of alcohol consumption in the last seven years for which figures are available, amounting to almost one a month. The research followed recent figures uncovered by Ms Randerson showing that every day an average of one child under the age of 16 is admitted to hospital through alcohol consumption.
